Church of All Saints - Records show there was a priest here in 10c. William de Curci founded a church in c1116 It was later given by his wife to the canons of Saint Mary and Saint Sepulchre of York Minster. Destroyed by the scots in 1307 it was granted by Lord Lisle to Bolton Priory on condition they provided 6 chaplains to pray for his and his father's souls and the church restored. Elizabeth and Sybell heiress daughters of Sir William de Aldburgh Lord of the Manor rebuilt the church c1410 keeping the original ground plan. They married into the Redmayne and Ryther families who between them ran the manor until 16c living together in the nearby castle. During this time their descendants married into the Gascoigne family of Gawthorpe Hall nearby uniting both manors
The church now houses their tombs, the largest collection of alabaster monuments in a parish church dating 1419-1510.
The Lascelles family acquired the manors in 1738 and the modernising of the church began in 1780s by Edwin Lascelles, Lord Harewood. The Lascelles married into the royal family when Mary Princess Royal daughter of George V and Queen Mary married Henry Lascelles 6th Earl of Harewood
Restored 1793 and 1862-3 by Sir G. G. Scott.
Now in the care of the Redundant Churches Fund.
